Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of your 28‑Day Dry Fire Program. Before we touch a firearm—real or training—we start with the non‑negotiables: safety and proper grip. These two elements are the foundation of everything we’ll build this month.

Safety First — Always

Before beginning today’s drill, take a moment to run through the universal safety rules:

  • Treat every firearm as if it’s loaded.

  • Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.

  • Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you’ve made the decision to fire.

  • Be sure of your target and what’s beyond it.

Dry fire is incredibly effective—but only when it’s done with absolute discipline. Clear your firearm, clear your space, and remove all live ammunition from the room.

Today’s Focus — Mastering Your Grip

Your grip is the anchor of your shooting. A strong, consistent grip gives you recoil control, stability, and the ability to run the gun efficiently.

Here’s what we’re building today:

Strong‑Hand Grip

  • Establish a high, firm purchase on the backstrap.

  • Web of the hand fully up into the beavertail.

  • Wrist locked forward for stability.

  • Trigger finger relaxed and independent.

Support‑Hand Grip

  • Fingers wrap over the strong hand with forward pressure.

  • Palm fills the open space on the grip—no gaps.

  • Thumbs forward, pointed toward the target.

  • Hands working together: strong hand squeezes front‑to‑back, support hand squeezes side‑to‑side.

Today is all about intentional reps. No shortcuts. Just clean mechanics and consistent pressure.

You’re building the foundation that will make every future skill easier, faster, and more controlled. Show up with focus, give yourself ten solid minutes, and let’s start this journey strong.
